1lbFresh morel mushroomshalved lengthwise, cleaned, and air dried
6tbspUnsalted buttersoftened
1/3cupBourbon whiskeyoptional
1/2cupHalf & half
Mushroom seasoning or salt and pepperto taste
Instructions
Preheat a large non-stick pan over medium high heat.
Add butter and cook until the foam disappears
Add morels. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring opten until mushrooms are soft and liquid is almost gone.
Remove pan from heat, add bourbon and continue cooking and stirring until alcohol as evaporated.
**Be careful not to get too close to the pan after bourbon is added in case the alcohol ignites. If it ignites, simply let it burn out by shaking the pan.
Add half and half. Cook until thickened and morels are coated, but not too saucy.
Remove from heat and season with wild mushroom seasonings or salt and pepper to taste.
Eat as is, or reserve for one of the other morel recipes on this site!
